Having the word 'kindergarteners' in my last post title reminded me of something.  Yesterday, the teachers in my district had a PD day.
We (the teachers) were 'unpacking' new teaching standards.  Yes, it was as fun as it sounds.  We were going over a document put together by the state that listed all of the standards by grade level for reading and math.  I've probably lost a reader or two because of the boringness of this post.  I apologize.  Here comes the main idea: The word 'kindergarteners' was misspelled on this document.  A state education teaching standards document.  It was written as 'kindergartners'.  Embarrassing.  One little letter left out, but embarrassing all the same.  Don't let Oprah get ahold of this document.
