I'm back...kinda.

So this is ridiculous. I've posted once in the past three weeks. Like Jay-Z, allow me to reintroduce myself. I'd like to say that I'm back for awhile, but that would be a big fat lie. I'm leaving for Florida on Friday, so I'll probably be sketchy around these parts for at least another week.

I asked my brother to write an entertaining post for the enjoyment of my lovely readers, but he said it wasn't a good time in his life right now. He said it would have to wait until after the NBA finals are over. Yeah, so he's pretty busy. He's also going to be gone next week too though. He will also be in Florida, but he will be at a far more magical place than the beach where I'll be. He will be at Harry Potter World for his friends Bachelor party weekend..........................[awkwardly clearing throat]. Time for a subject change.

But for real, if anyone wants to be my guest, I'll gladly hand over the keyboard and give you some Waiting on the Butterflies power. I'm clueless to the world of guest blogging, but if you know what's up and want to write, you just let me know.

Hmm. Well, there's so much to catch up on, but let's just start with today. Summer break officially started for me today! Raise the roof, Biotches! Man I love being a teacher. Summer break makes all the poop (literally) worth it. Today was my kickoff to Sarah's Lazy Summer Volume 28. I slept in a little and then did some light house cleaning. Big emphasis on light. I woke up with a strong desire to go shopping, but decided I wanted to go swimming even more. So that's what I did because I make the rules and can do whatever I want in the summer. I put on my swim gear and drove out to my parents with Daisy in tow. Saying I put on 'swim gear' makes it sound like I had a wet suit with complete scuba gear and possibly some of those fugly water shoes. Get that visual out of your head because that's far from what I had on. Replace that visual with me looking like the stunning goddess that I am resembling that of a bikini-clad model you would see on any one of the pages in the latest Victoria's Secret catalog. I'm glad we got that cleared up. Now, moving on.

I had the place all to myself today and it was glorious. Just me, a funny book, some snacks, cold dranks, and a pool float. That's all this girl needs. My life in the summer is quite comparable to Billy Madison's. I'm a big worthless leech that hangs out at my parents house.

Today I was really regretting not buying this floating cooler that I saw at Bed Bath & Beyond recently. It's the greatest cooler of all time and I need it in my summer life.
So I was outside all afternoon just enjoying lazy life...until the pool people arrived. I don't really have a technical name for them. Just pool people. They come periodically to clean the pool, test the water, you know, all that stuff that is best to pay others to do for you. They discovered that the pool's salt water system was busted--thanks to a hail storm that we had on Sunday. After they did tests on the water, they told me that I wouldn't be able to swim the rest of the night and probably not tomorrow either. Uh, excuse me? Do they not realize that I just started summer break? They informed me that the pool had developed mustard algae. Ew. Everything that had been in the pool today was contaminated with the funk. This evening the water is being shocked and a mesh bag holding my swimming suit and all of the floats are soaking in the pool overnight. I should probably be out in the pool floating overnight as well. As my mom always says, "We can't have nothin'." So much for swimming. Stupid algae. Messin' up my summer already.

I'm going to try really hard not to be such a stranger. Happy Summer, friends!
